data-driven-hockey.com (“I” or “me”) is operated by Nick Piccolo in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what information I collect when you use the site, how I use it, who helps me run the site, and the choices you have. I keep what I collect to what the site needs.

Information I collect

  • Account information. If you create an account, I collect your email address and password. If you sign in with Google, I receive your name and email address from Google. If your account was carried over from the old version of the site, it uses the email address that account had.
  • Membership information. Your membership level and whether it’s active. For a membership bought on the site, I receive its plan, status and billing dates from Stripe. If you link a Patreon account, I receive your Patreon membership tier and status.
  • What you save in the tools. For example, I save your fantasy teams and league settings in the Fantasy Hub so they’re there next time.
  • Usage information. Analytics (see below) records the pages you visit, your time on them, your approximate location, and your device and browser information.

Payment details. Memberships bought on the site are paid through Stripe, which acts as the seller of record and receives your card and other payment details and your billing address to work out tax. I don’t receive or store your card details. Memberships bought through Patreon are paid through Patreon.

How I use your information

  • To create and secure your account, sign you in and keep you signed in
  • To give you the access your membership includes, and to link a Patreon membership if you choose
  • To send the emails you need, like sign-in codes and messages about your account or membership
  • To save what you set up in the tools
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To show ads to visitors without a membership

Cookies and similar storage

The site stores a few things in your browser so it works, like keeping you signed in and remembering small preferences. Analytics and advertising partners use cookies too (below). Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising and analytics cookies are used.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand how often visitors come to the site, which pages they view and which site they came from. Google Analytics records the IP address assigned to your device at the time of your visit but does not give me your name or other information that identifies you. Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Advertising

Visitors without a membership may see ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show ads and measure them, including ads based on your interests. You can manage interest-based ads in Google’s ad settings.

CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive (“Raptive”) is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Raptive’s data usage, click here: https://raptive.com/creator-advertising-privacy-statement/

Services that help me run the site

These companies process information on my behalf and only for the purposes above:

Some of these companies store information outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

How long I keep it

I keep your account information while you have an account. If you ask me to delete your account, I delete your account and what you saved in the tools. Stripe and Patreon keep their own records of your payments.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information I have about you, to correct it, or to delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, for example under Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To make a request, contact me below.

Changes

I may update this Privacy Policy. I’ll post the new version on this page with the date it was updated.
