These terms cover your use of data-driven-hockey.com (the “site”), your account and any DDH Premium or DDH Elite membership you buy. The site is run by Nick Piccolo in Ontario, Canada (“I”, “me”). By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The site and what it is for

DataDrivenHockey publishes NHL analytics: model probabilities, projections, player and team ratings, fantasy tools and articles. Some of it is free; the rest needs a membership.

Everything on the site is for information and entertainment. The numbers are estimates from statistical models and can be wrong. Nothing on the site is professional advice, and how you use it is up to you. Please only wager money you are comfortable losing. No outcome is ever certain. If gambling is causing you problems, please reach out to a local support service.

Your account

  • You need an account to use member tools. Free tools work without one.
  • Give a real email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person per account. Don’t share your sign-in or your membership with others.
  • You must be at least 13 to create an account, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a membership.
  • You can delete your account at any time by emailing me (see Contact).

Memberships

  • Tiers. DDH Premium and DDH Elite. What each includes is listed on the Membership page. I may add, change or retire tools over time; I won’t remove the main tools of a tier you’re paying for without telling you first.
  • Prices. Shown on the site and at checkout, monthly (or yearly, where offered). Taxes are shown at checkout. If a price changes, the new price applies from your next billing period after I’ve told you about it, and you can cancel before then.
  • Automatic renewal. Memberships renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account page; you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Free trials. Where a free trial is offered, you enter a payment method at sign-up and aren’t charged until the trial ends. Cancel before it ends and you won’t be charged. One trial per person.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, your access continues for a short grace period while the payment is retried; if it still fails, the membership ends.
  • Refunds. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • Payments. Memberships bought on the site are processed by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record for the payment, calculates and collects tax and issues receipts. Your payment is also subject to Stripe’s terms.
  • Patreon memberships. If you joined through Patreon, your billing, renewals and refunds are handled by Patreon under its own terms. Linking your Patreon account to your site account gives you the matching access on the site.

Using the site and its content

The site’s content (data, probabilities, cards, charts, articles and code) belongs to me. Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it for your own non-commercial purposes. You may not:

  • resell or redistribute member-only content;
  • copy the site's data with automated tools;
  • share your account or work around the membership levels;
  • use the site to break the law or to harm others.

Sharing an occasional screenshot or a single number in conversation or on social media is fine, as long as you credit DataDrivenHockey.

Ending your access

I may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If I close a paid account for a serious breach, a refund isn’t owed. If I ever shut down the site or a membership tier, I’ll give notice and refund any unused prepaid time.

No guarantees and limits on liability

The site is provided “as is”. I work to keep it accurate and available, but I can’t promise it will always be error-free, complete or online. To the extent the law allows, I’m not responsible for losses that come from using or relying on the site, and my total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be limited.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects paid memberships, I’ll let members know by email before it applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
